Harvard Westlake's Summer Business Camp "Lemonade Stand" is Really a Social Justice Camp

Hardvard Westlake is the top private school in Los Angeles. It's the most expensive and the hardest to get into. They offer an awesome three-week academic summer camp each year in which the kids get to take three classes each day. Anders was very excited to do this camp. He signed up for a class in debate, one on music, and and one on business.

The debate class and the music class turned out to be amazing. He loves them. The business class turned out to be ... not what he was expecting. It is called "Lemonade Stand." Harvard Westlake offers it every year. It is one of their most popular classes. The course description reads, "Calling all problem-finders, problem-solvers, and inventors! Lemonade Stand is here to ignite your creative, entrepreneurial spirit."

Anders had an app idea that he really wanted to develop and thought this class would be the perfect place to do it. Instead he watched videos of black entrepreneurs starting social justice companies and then filled out worksheets about them, was told to bring some trash from home and invent something with it while thinking about how to solve global warming, watched videos of (never white) children inventing things to help others, and spent a class period trying to solve homelessness.

Anders did not continue with the class after four days as he wanted a business class. But I thought I would share this as I am sure that most Harvard Westlake parents are not aware that the "business" class they just signed their kid up for is really a primer in guilt, social justice, and wokeness.

PSA: The Entire Gifted World is for Super Far Left Liberals Only

When Anders was attending a summer camp at the age of 6 or so, his counselor told me that he did not belong at regular summer camps, and that I needed to look into gifted camps for him. And so began a long journey into this entire world of exclusive activities for high IQ children.

I knew very little about IQ when I began this journey. It's been fascinating. If you consider yourself or your child "bright" or "smart" I highly recommend looking into it as there are many personality traits of gifted people that regular people interpret incorrectly. (For example, throughout my life I was often accused of being ADHD and/or autistic. I don't think I am either, not that it matters, but coming across that way to normies is apparently... normal for high IQ people. It's good to know. I am so thankful my parents didn't medicate me.)

Anyway, Anders was very excited about going to summer camps full of other kids as smart as he is, so I did all the obnoxious paperwork required for him to be admitted into the three main gifted kid programs--

Center for Talented Youth at John's Hopkins

Davidson Young Scholars

Summer Institute for the Gifted

Unfortunately as soon as he was admitted Covid hit and everything was canceled for the next two years. This summer it was finally a possibility that he would get to try out these programs. Except it's not. Because the CTY's classes are completely woke, and there is no way I am sending Anders to any of those ever. DYS and SIG programs are only open to the vaccine sheep. They also signal wokeness in that the emails I receive from them specify pronouns.

I attended some Zoom parent meetings for the above groups just to see if I was making unfair assumptions about their intolerance of any viewpoints other than extreme far leftism, and I wasn't. I was also shocked to find that most parents wanted to do nothing but complain about their kids excessive video game playing and lack of interest in real life. I couldn't relate at all.

There is also a purely social opportunity called PG Retreat (profoundly gifted retreat) but their focus is on tolerating all kinds of insane behaviors but not those behaviors normal to conservatives or Christians.

So... there is apparently no community for bright children who are not vaccinated and into gender fluidity. Just thought I would give you the heads up so you don't waste your time applying to these groups....
